The Golden Disk is found, but it attracts the attention of many.

Synopsis

One day on New Quintessa, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee come across Shockwave, who tells them that one of their "kind" knows of an artifact of great power and warns them to stay out of his way as he seeks it. With information from Ratchet, Optimus learns that the Decepticon was referring to an golden object of great value to generations after them. Rhinox clarifies that it's the Golden Disk and that the one who knows of it must be Dinobot. Running into the searching Shockwave, the Commander's forces defeat him.

Rhinox implores Optimus Prime to hurry up the search, as the Golden Disk holds the history of the future, giving the holder power to change time itself. They spot Galvatron, who has heard of the "Golden Disk" from the defeated Shockwave and, thinking it's worth his while in energon, desires it for himself. Rhinox refuses to let him obtain it and the Commander leads the charge in beating the lunatic.

Grimlock, catching wind of a new "Dinobot" quizzes Rhinox about him, and the exasperated Maximal tries to explain him the difference between the individual known as Dinobot and the Dinobots, but his attempts just hurt Grimlock's head. Dinobot eventually meets the Commander's force, impressed with their victories, but refuses to trust the Commander with the power of the Golden Disk, lest it corrupt the Commander with its power. Grimlock, unimpressed with Dinobot's test of the Commander's prowess, challenges him with the power of a "real Dinobot", but is defeated.

Prowl voices his concerns to Optimus Prime about Rhinox's commitment to their mission after the Maximal leaves the base and cuts off all communication. The two catch up with Rhinox, who explains that Dinobot has a destiny he must fulfill, having destroyed the Golden Disk once before, and refuses to let the Autobots an opportunity to study the Golden Disk. Rhinox tussles with the others and loses.

Waspinator, now knowing of the presence of the Golden Disk, sets out to acquire it to change his lot in life. When the Autobots, understandably concerned about Waspinator having little concern for his of others' well-being, reach him, Waspinator goes on a rant about how none of his allegiances have truly worked out for him and attacks them.

With Waspinator taken care of, Bumblebee reports to Optimus Prime that the Golden Disk has been found... but Dinobot has it. Optimus and Dinobot debate the merits of allowing the Golden Disk to exist, with Dinobot refusing to risk its misuse, but Optimus desiring to study it. When Optimus implores Dinobot to trust the Commander, Dinobot demands trust must be earned and ends the debate with a battle.
