For those who would like to know more, here is some explanation about the little story of French dubs and what's going on with France/Quebec/Belgium!
French and Quebecois people speak the same language, but we don't use the same words, the same expressions and we don't have the same accent. That is why the original ''Transformers'' cartoon got one dub in France, one dub in Quebec (I grew up with the France one, but I have to admit they did not really care about voice continuity between episodes, every character got a new voice each episode!). The 1986 film was dubbed only in France, with a different dubbing team than the one who worked on the TV series (which resulted in a pretty bad performance from the actors who were kinda lost, but also some errors like making Starscream a female).
However, the Quebecois dubbing field is less "universal" than the French one, so for many TV shows, probably because of money restrictions, producers will pay only one dub in France, for a worldwide French-speaking market. Consequently, Beast Wars and the Unicron Trilogy were dubbed only in France (Robots in Disguise 2001 was not dubbed/broadcast at all).
Regarding the live-action films, being big-budget ones, both countries got their dub for the 6 movies.
Transformers Animated was dubbed in France, and that was actually the last Transformers show to be so, because all the next ones (Prime, RID2015, Rescue Bots, Cyberverse...) were and are still dubbed in... Belgium! Indeed, the Belgian dub market is less expensive than the French one and the quality of comedians is as good as the French & Quebecois ones.
The videogames (PS2 Armada, Animated, War for Cybertron, Transformers 2007, Revenge of the Fallen and Dark of the Moon games) were all dubbed in France, since Quebec and Belgium almost never dub videogames. However, none of the voice actors from the series/films have taken over their roles in the games, with the exception of the Animated game who got several actors from the series. That's another problem, most of today's Transformers animated shows are dubbed in Belgium, but since the games dubs are made in France, every new videogame will need a new voice cast, different from the TV one.
Here is our working technique for French/Canadian voice actors on this wiki:
* ''"Actor name (European French)"'' means that the show/film was dubbed in both France and Quebec and that this one is the actor from the France version.
* Same for ''"Actor name (Canadian French)"'', that means that this actor is the one from the Quebec version.
* A simple ''"Actor name (French)"'' means that the show/game/film was only dubbed in France or Belgium for a worldwide French-speaking market.
