While he's been voice acting since 1988, he's also a singer, part of the music group E.M.U. (Entertainment Music Unit) alongside fellow Transformers actors Ryōtarō Okiayu, Nobutoshi Canna, and Hideo Ishikawa. Hikaru is also known to play the saxophone, collects Gundam models, basketball, and dislikes sushi.
