Protons are a subatomic particle. The amount of protons in an atom will determine what type of chemical element it is. Protons also carry great power, and are often used for weaponry by the Transformers.

After consuming protons from a generator at the Nova Power planet, the Insecticons discovered that the protons made them grow in size. However, the protons they absorbed was also incompatible with their stomachs, and risked causing a massive explosion. The Insecticon Syndrome
