Fiction

2005 IDW continuity

Having risen to power following his father's death (nobody was sure when), Kim Jong Du was leading North Korea several years after the Decepticon invasion. He oversaw the country's production of energon. At some point, he allied himself with the Combaticons, and set up an invasion of South Korea by attacking the Korean Demilitarized Zone. The Land Ironclads While the invasion started off well, Kim got angry when the Combaticons slacked off in a most unpatriotic manner after only a single night's work. They got much more active and patriotic when he threatened to take their energon rations away, after which he ordered them to destroy the enemy troops gathering nearby. Ranks of Bronze It didn't take long for the Autobots to get involved, leading to the destruction of North Korea's energon production facilities. With his only bargaining chip lost, Kim Jong Du's alliance with the Combaticons subsequently fell through. All My Sins Remembered
