DC Comics is a U.S. comic book company originally founded in 1934 as National Comics Publications, that is currently owned by sister company Warner Bros., primary rival to Marvel Comics and owner of the world-renowned heroes Superman, Batman and well known villain, Joker. While DC Comics has yet to formally collaborate with Hasbro in a Transformers project, many freelancer creators at IDW Publishing have done work for DC.
Notes
- In the late 2000s, Phil Jimenez, in collaboration with IDW Publishing editor-in-chef Chris Ryall, pitched a comic book crossover between the Transformers and DC Comics' Justice League. Sadly, the pitch never came to fruition,[1] likely in part due to the massive The New 52 reboot project of 2011.
- Artist Jim Lee currently serves as both Publisher and Chief Creative Officer of the company, with the latter position previously held by Dan DiDio since early 2020.
