Jan Spitzer was a German actor and voice actor. He was born on May 16, 1947 - he passed away on November 4, 2022.
His career as an actor began in 1968, when he completed his education at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst "Ernst Bush" Berlin (Ernst Bush Academy for the Dramatic Arts in Berlin). Even as a student, he acted in the German motion picture Abschied (Farewell), an adaptation of the novel by Johannes R. Becher. Many movie and TV roles followed.
Since 1990, he has also worked as a voice actor. He has lent his voice to Chris Cooper, Jon Voight, Ted Levine, Danny Trejo, Joaquim de Almeida, Brad Garrett and many more. In the realm of animation he has voiced The Brain on Animaniacs, Splinter in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003), Dr. Drakken on Kim Possible, Man-At-Arms on He-Man & the Masters of the Universe, Slade on Teen Titans, Cad Bane and Turk Falson on Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Coldstone on Gargoyles, Scarab on Mummies Alive!, Admiral Duane Halberton in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, Kraven the Hunter on The Spectacular Spider-Man, Earl Devereaux in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Bane and Commissioner James Gordan in Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Xemnas in Kingdom Hearts II.
