New Zealand is an island nation in Earth's Pacific Ocean, located southeast of Australia. The humans living there are commonly referred to as either New Zealanders or Kiwis; it is also home to the native Māori people. Both groups combined are outnumbered 7 to 1 by sheep, a fact which Australians find intensely humorous.

2005 IDW continuity

Ten thousand years in Earth's past, the Dynobot starship Skyfire crashed in what would become the Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand's South Island. Spotlight: Grimlock Much later in the modern day, Grimlock orbital bounced to the ship and spent some time there before being lured away by the Machination. Maximum Dinobots #1

The Monsterbots later appeared in the glacier after responding to Grimlock's call for help. Maximum Dinobots #2 The Dynobots eventually repaired the Skyfire and left New Zealand alone. Maximum Dinobots #5

Notes

• As in Australia, New Zealand's Transformers DVD's are supplied by Madman Entertainment.
• Also like Australia, everything costs considerably more in New Zealand than it does in America, including Transformers toys, which are usually twice or even thrice as expensive.
• New Zealand has a hard time getting new wave releases, and some major exclusives; generally those sold through Walgreens and Hasbro Pulse. Most exclusives sold through Target, Walmart and Toys"R"Us (when it was still around), tend to get redistributed as exclusives under either of New Zealand's five major retail stores.
• New Zealand has five major retail stores that regularly distribute Transformers toys: Toyworld, department stores Kmart (not the same branch as the US store of the same name), The Warehouse and Farmers, and Mighty Ape. There have also been other chains such as EB Games (again, not the same branch as the US store), bookstores Paper Plus and Whitcoulls, and supermarket Countdown that have been known to carry Transformers toys from time to time, but these are infrequent and generally sell random selections of product rather than entire waves.
• New Zealand was the first country to premiere the 2015 Robots in Disguise cartoon in English.
• Clive Revill, who played Kickback in The Transformers cartoon, was born and raised in New Zealand's capital city, Wellington.
