The Maze is a location on Cybertron where Hot Rod, with the aid of Daniel Witwicky, and Blurr raced each other. It appears to be a sort of Autobot gauntlet for training against Decepticons, and is notorious for its sharp, narrow twisting corridors that requires precision over speed to make it through without incident.
Brainstorm attributed Hot Rod's victory in said race to the fact that he had help from a human. He took this as evidence in support of his theory that the Autobots could function better with the aid of secondary operators. This theory would eventually lead to the creation of the Headmasters.
