The Transformers Mini Car Collection was a joint venture between French toy company Majorette and Japanese confectionery company Kabaya. Released in the Spring of 2003, the small line consisted of redecos of ten of Majorette's numbered die-cast vehicles—akin to Mattel’s Hot Wheels—intended to represent members of the Transformers: Armada cast. Although painted in the colour schemes of those characters and sporting their faction insignia and even promotional images of their robot forms as decos, the Majorette vehicles selected often bore little resemblance to the characters; no example is greater than Megatron, who went from being a tank in the Armada toyline to a wheel loader. In addition to six recognizable Armada cartoon cast members, four generic, unnamed vehicles were also part of the line. Sold as Kabaya candy toys, each vehicle came with a stick of chewing gum.
