DIAAAAA... "block"?

Diablock (ディアブロック, Diaburokku - a contraction of "Diamond Block") is a line of Japanese construction toys manufactured by Kawada Co. Ltd. These are centered around interlocking bricks, with their most well-known foray into international markets being the smaller Nanoblock series. They have produced a handful of Transformers sets over the years in partnership with TakaraTomy.

It should go without saying that Diablock's sets are heavily based on the traditional LEGO construction block system. But unlike most other "LEGO-inspired" construction block toylines (such as Hasbro's Built to Rule! and Kre-O), Diablock actually features an entirely unique parts system that isn't compatible with their Danish counterparts. Another interesting feature of Diablock's mainline Transformers sets is that they don't have to be disassembled and reassembled to form their alternate modes, the same which can't be said about the aforementioned Hasbro equivalents.

Notably, beyond the standard and Nanoblock releases, they actually had an entire planned subline of Transformers sets that unfortunately didn't make the cut.
