Autobot Cars are a subgroup in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Autobot Cars are a subgroup of Autobots. They transform into cars, except when they turn into trucks. They are larger than Mini Autobots. This designation was used primarily in reference to the toyline, and was not reflected as an official subgroup within the comics or animation.

The first two years worth of cars were all based on Diaclone toy molds. The 1986 releases were original molds based on character designs from The Transformers: The Movie.
