- The compression cannon is a weapon from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Sometimes, a vicious beating by an enraged robot ape isn't enough to loosen a captive's oral circuits. That's why Beastbox needs his compression cannons. Unfortunately, the crushing blasts of air pressure they fire are more likely to silence their target... permanently.
The faction-switching Catilla's air concussion cannon works the same way, as does the ever-cheerful Dead End's compressor-air gun. The latter's can kick out a 40,000 psi blast capable of ripping a grove of trees to shreds. But what's the point? The gun's going to break sooner or later. And shooting at the Autobots is just going to get him killed. Face it, we're doomed.
In addition, Streetwise has a double-barrelled air-compressor cannon mounted on his trunk. Just one air blast can travel up to fifty miles, and still have enough punch to knock a jet out of the sky. He's really had it with those motherboardfragging snakes on his motherboardfragging plane.
Blowpipe, Triggerhappy's Nebulan partner turns into a compressed air cannon. While it's probably no less powerful than Dead End's or Beastbox's air guns, it leaves something to be desired when facing down your pissed-off ex-boss.
