- Transwarp cells are technology from the Beast Wars portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
A transwarp cell is an essential component of a Transwarp Drive, providing whatever motive force it is that can propel a starship through transwarp. They are sophisticated enough to be programmed to follow specific courses and even affect the systems of the spacecraft they're installed into.

Tarantulas stole a transwarp cell from the Darksyde, intending to use it as part of an escape ship. While he was distracted, Megatron was able to access it remotely and download his own program into the cell.
