The name Smokescreen has been applied to several Transformers characters:
- Smokescreen the Autobot rally car from Generation 1.
- Smokescreen the Decepticon jet who combines with Dreadwing from Generation 2.
- Smokescreen the Autobot crane from Armada, who was later rebuilt and renamed Hoist.
- Smokescreen the Autobot crane from Universe.
- Smokescreen the unreleased Autobot rally car from Universe.
- Smokescreen the Autobot rally car from Cybertron.
"Smokescreen" was also the early name for Cybertron Crosswise, which made it into the initial run of the cartoon series. The relevant lines were later redubbed to his correct, final name for later airings. Which made the eventual Cybertron redeco all the more amusing.
Smokescreen should not be confused with...
- Smokejumper the Decepticon jet who combines with Dreadwind from Robots in Disguise.
- Smokesniper the Decepticon jet who combines with Gigant Bomb from Robot Masters.
