Roberto Orci is an American film and television producer and screenwriter. Together with his friend and writing partner Alex Kurtzman, he has written several high-profile motion pictures recently, including The Island (which was directed by Michael Bay), as well as J.J Abrams' Mission Impossible 3 and the critically-acclaimed 2009 Star Trek movie.
Orci and Kurztman confirmed[citation needed] that they would not be writing the as-yet untitled third Transformers movie, but it was revealed during Hasbro's Fall Investor Day Event on November 5, 2009 that they would be involved in some capacity with the Hasbro-Discovery Communications Joint Venture Network. You've got to really look at it and see what's going to translate to the storytelling that's relevant now and what has to be sacrificed. Sometimes it's hard to know, so it's important to be disciplined about it.
