While not explicitly stated, this follows on from Bumblebee being reassigned to Sam at the end of Alliance issue 4.

This is now the Four th time that Barricade has turned up in ROTF-era fiction, despite not being in the actual film and only having a handful of spin-off toys. I guess everyone just loves Barricade!

Sam's parents are already aware of Bumblebee, though like in the second film it's not stated when they became aware.
