Differences with the movie (general)

  • Nearly all the humorous elements from the movie are missing, barring very, very few exceptions. This could be due to most of the humorous dialogue being ad-libbed for the movie and not in the script sent to IDW.
  • Characters are monologuing a lot.
  • Alice and Grindor don't die, although they are both absent for the rest of the comic.
  • Wheelie never becomes an Autobot. All the information he provides is under the threat of physical harm from Mikaela Banes.
  • The Fallen doesn't arrive at Earth until the combat has started in Egypt. Megatron is the one who reveals the Decepticons' presence to the people of Earth and demands they turn over Sam Witwicky.
  • Instead of getting the coordinates to Egypt/Jordan from Simmons as in the film, Epps and Lennox gets them from Epps' wife.
  • All the minor Decepticons that were in the final battle in the film are absent in the comic.
