This article is about the Cybertron-series Planet X Decepticon. For the Generation 1 Decepticon upgrade of Soundwave, see Soundwave (G1).

Soundblaster is a Planet X Decepticon from the Cybertron portion of the Unicron Trilogy.

Soundblaster wears the badge of the Decepticons, but his allegiance is to Planet X and its goals. He is partnered with the Mini-Con Hell Buzzsaw.

(Note: Soundblaster's status as a separate character from Soundwave is debatable, as there is no official biographical information on him whatsoever at this time. However, his being a new character can be extrapolated from Takara's naming conventions; in the overwhelming majority of cases, recurring toy-characters only undergo a name change upon receiving a new bodyform, same-mold redecos typically -but not always- only receive a modifier on top of their old name. The only known exceptions to this pattern in twenty years of Japanese Transformers are Twincast and Soundblaster from Headmasters in Generation 1 (who were actually retooled from the orignal versions) and Master Megatron from the Japanese version of Cybertron, who became Master Galvatron despite his upgrade being only a redeco of his previous toy.)
