- Diskmaster is a martial art from the Beast Era portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Diskmaster is a martial combat style using explosive disks in combat, usually in both robot and alternate forms. Disks may be rigged to explode at the time and place of the master's choosing.[1]
The only known Diskmasters are Mantis and Autolauncher.
Notes
- The term "Diskmaster" never existed in the Japanese version of the Beast Wars franchise. The term is derived from a turn of phrase found in Autolauncher's Japanese bio card[2]. 円盤使い, enban tsukai, roughly means "discus user"[3] in English. The term was rendered as "disc master" (in quotes) when the bio card was fan-translated in the late 90s/early 00s, evidently taking a cue from the various Masters of the original toyline. The term then stuck around in the English-speaking fandom until it was canonized in the Beast Wars Sourcebook.
