The Super Stunt Team hide with their new friend, but they're not out of danger yet.

Synopsis

Oh, Quine.

The Super Stunt Team establish a mental link with Stella, allowing her to understand their language. Hiding in her basement, they tell her how they came to arrive on Earth four million years ago, ejecting from the crashing Exodus in an escape pod. She also gets a brief explanation of the Mini-Con storage panels Redline keeps within him. Meanwhile, Servo digs through Stella's laundry, uncovering an amazing tool.

While this is going on, just outside of Portland, Oregon, another Mini-Con flees from a Fixer Bug, the same type of machine that chased the Super Stunt Team earlier. Unfortunately, this one doesn't get away, and his pleas to a menacing fellow Mini-Con go unheeded. The Fixer Bug force-Powerlinxes to the fugitive, and the Mini-Con is reduced to energy and sucked in. The Fixer Bug then changes its mass, forming a rather evil-looking storage panel with a glowing red sigil...

Quotes

Servo: <Holds up a bra> Stella, what kind of tool is this?
Stella: It's a secret weapon, okay, so don't touch it!
Servo: Really? Can't I use it too?

Tailslide: Why are you fighting me? You're a Mini-Con, same as I am...
Top Gear: We are not the same.
<Tailslide is converted to evil-looking storage panel form>
Top Gear: Now we are the same.

Notes

  • This comic was available only with the second volume of the Micron Legend DVD in Japan, along with the exclusive Top Gear toy. Later pressings of the DVD did not include either.

Art errors

  • Top Gear goes from standing in front of the force-Powerlinxed Tailslide to standing behind him between panels. It's conceivable that Tailslide could simply have spun around during the process... after all, it does look pretty painful.

Transformers references

  • The psychic link that allows a non-Mini-Con to understand binary speak was very briefly introduced in the episode "First Encounter". Later episodes would expand on the concept a little bit, kind of in passing; the Armada dub was less than consistent on the topic of whether or not the human kids could understand their Mini-Con partners.
  • The signal that activated the Super Stunt Team appears to be the signal accidentally sent to Cybertron when Rad picked up the storage panel containing High Wire (also from "First Encounter").

Trivia

  • The Super Stunt Team's text no longer has the < > brackets, indicating that Stella can now understand their speech (even though they are still technically speaking in binary). Top Gear and Tailslide retain the brackets.
Fresh from the Mini-Car Wash of Doom
  • We get our first view of the Super Stunt Team's pre-Earth bodies, but not their alternate modes.
  • Redline has four storage panels in his chest compartment in this issue. This comes up again....
  • Servo is one damn lucky Mini-Con.
  • The Fixer Bugs, Top Gear and Tailslide are all unnamed. Of course, this comic came with the Top Gear toy, who was named on the package. We won't know the name of Top Gear's victim or the mysterious devices for another couple of installments...and it'll be several more before we find out who they work for and what their purpose is.
  • Page four of the comic is a group bio/Tech Spec for the Super Stunt Team.
