- Deep Cover is an Autobot in the Generation 1 continuity.

Assigned to an Earth police force as part of an exchange program along with his brother Clamp Down, Deep Cover specializes in solo infiltration missions. He can not only project illusions, but is capable of shrinking himself down to 1/40th his normal size for brief periods of time.
His many years of undercover work have taken their toll on him; though he remains vigilant and a fierce defender of the innocent, he sometimes comes across as very weary, struggling with inner demons.

- An e-Hobby exclusive available only in a set with Clamp Down, Deep Cover is a redeco of the orignal Sideswipe toy, transforming into a Lamborghini Countach LP500S. As he was released only in Japan, his spring-loaded missile launcher is fully operational. Several factory-applied decals on the original version were replaced by painted tampographs, like his headlamps.
- The base mold is also used for Clamp Down, Red Alert, and Tigertrack.
