When a mysterious yellow locomotive appeared, Vanflint ordered Smythe to find out where it came from. When Smythe expressed his inability to find any records pertaining to the locomotive, Vanflint told Smythe to wire Sacramento, so that he could order a dozen more like it and fire all the human track-layers.
