Transformers Fandom History
The legendary Canadian fan Daniel "Protoman" Arseneault started his humble Transformers beginnings with his first trip to see some robot movie with his next door neighbour back in 1986, it all snowballed from there. There he was introduced to something new and beautiful to him and not to mention coming into contact with a character that would become dear to his heart and always brought up when the name "Protoman" is mentioned. As he grew older, he used his money working at BMW as a mechanic and semi-pro racing in Formula Ford and KART to fund his insane lust for all things Transformers. Considered one of the top representatives of the Canadian Transformers fandom, Daniel uses his social jock influence to bring others who normally see the hobby as a "nerdy thing" and brings light to them as if it was some kind of religion they were missing out on.
According to the Twitter page of Derrick J. Wyatt, some visual aspects of Rodimus Prime from Transformers Animated were based on Daniel, such as the popped collar which is a regular part of his attire.[1]

He also taunted the vastly pro-american audience when he took the mic from Alvarez. After the Friday Panel, Protoman privately talked with Derrick J. Wyatt about insuring Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime get a good faithful representation when he will be used in Animated. Later on Jared Wade drew up a sketch of Animated Rodimus for him (7 months before it's public debut).
TFcon[[4]] wise, he is part of the main staff of the convention. Daniel hosts multiple Transformers history and educational panels, is the head judge of any trivia competition and is liasion for any guests that need someone to hang with to balance out the normal convention "crowd".
