Val Staples (born April 1, 19??) is a comic book colorist. He got his first work in 2000, as main colorist on Robert Kirkman's Battle Pope and a number of Marvel titles. After a stint at Hi-Fi Design, he created a new studio, MVCreations. Staples has an interest in Masters of the Universe — he owns he-man.org — so a comic based on this franchise was one of the titles published by MVCreations. As well, Staples worked as a colorist on Transformers and G.I. Joe comics for Devil's Due Press. In early 2005, MVCreations was forced to close in the aftermath of the bankruptcy of Cross Generation Comics. Staples returned to solo work and was able to raise the money to pay off the debt left by MVCreations with the intent to relaunch the studio. Much of his recent work has been for Marvel comics.[1]
