The Prime Minister of Japan (内閣総理大臣 Naikaku Sōri Daijin, "Minister for the General Administration of the Cabinet") is the head of government of Japan.

To keep the Autobots from interfering in the Decepticons' plan to obtain energon cubes from the tampering of the Pacific Ring of Fire, Starscreams promised the Prime Minister of Japan no aggressive action against Japan if they were left in secrecy. The Prime Minister, having little choice, complied and hid all Decepticon activity from the sensor network of the Autobot-human alliance, covering up any damage done to Japan as the result of natural earthquakes.
