- Hedgehog is a Beastformer from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Born in Hogs Town, Hedgehog (ヘジホッグ Hejihoggu) had a great life until the Decepticons invaded his homeworld, Beast, raising an insurgent army from the dissatisfied cold-blooded Beastformers. As the Decepticon-allied Beastformers conquered the planet, Hedgehog joined White Leo's resistance army, becoming a Special Forces combatant. Along with Rabbit Kid, he was shot into space to track down the good Cybertronians, the Autobots, to help drive off the Decepticons and restore the old regime. He also holds the rank of King of Hogland, over Emperor Deaspider... who fights on the opposite side in the war. Okay then.
Hedgehog has close bonds with fellow soldiers Rabbit Kid and the avuncular Yellow Giraffe.

- Hedgehog is an anthropomorphic dark gray porcupine in high-tech, and very spiky, pale gold armor. He comes with his "Hegrinder" weapon. He has one of three rubsigns on his abdomen, revealing the elemental power of fire, water, or wood.

- Later in 1987, Hedgehog was reissued in the third wave of Beastformers, in new packaging with no Transformers logos or insignia. His bio card still featured the Autobot symbol.
