- The Reverse Evolution virus is a malicious self-replicating computer program from the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Reverse Evolution virus, developed by the Decepticons, was capable of turning Autobots into Decepticons. Victims of the program turned black, with white Decepticon symbols, and showed destructive tendencies.
Fiction
Micromaster
Unknown Decepticons developed the virus, then captured Road Police and infected him with it. He proceeded to spread it to Circuit, Glide, Neo-Wheel, and Discharge. Joe and Sireen developed an antivirus program to return the other Turbo Team members to normal. In order to get the program into their systems, Sireen surrendered to the others and convinced them to combine into Sixturbo, activating the program just as they combined. Sireen was briefly turned into a Decepticon himself just before the antivirus program took effect, turning all six components back into Autobots.
The anti-virus program was the basis for the Vaccine Program Gun.
Animated
The Reverse Evolution virus was one of the many nasty creations of the chemist Oil Slick. The AllSpark Almanac II
Notes
- All of the virus's known victims in Micromaster were originally Cyberdroids who were "evolved" into Autobots or Decepticons by a dimensional shockwave. The virus's name suggests that the change from Autobot to Decepticon was somehow based around this effect, rather than involving a shell program.
