Primary system program transfers are Cybertronian biological procedures from Universe.

With a primary system program transfer, Transformers can switch bodies. Basically, they put their hands together to initiate an interface and upload their primary system programs into each other. The trick is that this has to be done at exactly the same moment, or otherwise one of the bodies will have to store too much information, causing the neural net to crash and both personalities to be wiped out. Of course, since some Transformers have shown to be capable of possessing multiple personalities, the importance of precise timing might differ depending on the individuals involved.

Trailbreaker noticed that the cages he and the others had been put in reacted to each inidivudal attempt to break free and suspected that they were keyed to their specific bio-mechanical auras. He urged Silverbolt, who was put in the cage next to him, to perform a primary system program transfer with him so that they could break free. Silverbolt hesitated at first, but agreed.
