Security Team Dion is a unit led by Ultra Magnus under direct command of Shockwave during the post-Great Shutdown era.

Dreamwave Generation 1 comics

As ruler of a united Cybertron, Shockwave traveled to Earth with his team of Triple Changers to take the "war criminals" under command of Optimus Prime and Megatron into custody. The Decepticons were apprehended within reasonable effort, but the Autobots fled. Rather than going after them himself, Shockwave had Security Team Dion take care of the loose ends.

Assisted by Blitzwing, the security team first bumped into a small Autobot reconnaissance squad consisting of Prowl, Mirage, Trailbreaker and Cliffjumper. The consequent fight only ended when Ultra Magnus, a well-respected former Autobot, approached Mirage and informed him that they were not the enemy and that Shockwave had not lied when he had said Cybertron was now at peace under his command. Mirage in turn informed Prowl, who ordered the Autobots with him to surrender. New World Order Not much later, at the Ark, Ultra Magnus used the trust of old the Autobots had in him to get them to surrender, seemingly successful. However, while Optimus and a few others obliged, Security Team Dion failed to notice a rather large part of the crew had left in secret. Taking the Autobots they had apprehended aboard Sky Lynx, the team headed back to Cybertron. Brothers' Burden

Notes

• Security Team Dion and its leader are a reference to the character Dion from the Generation 1 cartoon. It is a popular suggestion among the fandom that Dion was rebuilt into Ultra Magnus.
