Blurr is an Autobot in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Blurr is positively and incontrovertibly without possibility of any doubt the fastest-thinking, fastest-talking and fastest-driving data courier and messenger from the planet of Cybertron, and if you or your friend or anybody else you know or anybody else you might not know or in fact anybody at all wants to send any kind of message or dispatch or parcel or data or in fact anything at all to any base or station or out-of-the-way depot, barracks, headquarters, outpost, or post office and it is absolutely essential to deliver it immediately or at the earliest opportunity and without any delay of any kind regardless of Decepticons or obstacles or foul weather or gloom of night then Blurr's the one to pick, sir, so just give him the good word and the item in question and Blurr is off like a Cybertronic race horse, if there were such a thing as a Cybertronic race horse, and if such a beast was able to break the sound barrier on land and leave only dust clouds and lingering after-images, because Blurr leaves only dust clouds and lingering after images, but he'll be off that quickly with your message in hand, and if any hostile power or enemy or Decepticon ambush should get in the way then he'll hit them with a blast from his electro-laser which will reverse the polarity of their microcircuits and they'll be stopped. Dead.

Blurr was part of Fortress Maximus' unit on Cybertron, and had been for hundreds of years when the commander quit Cybertron for Nebulos and a peaceful life. Ring of Hate

After the failure of Maximus' plan, Blurr was one of the Autobots to become Targetmasters, and he was paired with the Nebulan Haywire as his weapon/partner. He would stay with Fortress Maximus' crew until their reintegration with the rest of the Autobots.

In the Movie-based future of 2006 and onwards, Blurr became a seasoned time-traveller. On numerous occasions, he and other Autobots (generally Kup and Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime) travelled to the twentieth century to battle Galvatron, who had fled Unicron to that time.

Returning from their last trip to 1989, Blurr and his comrades found themselves not in their home dimension, but in an alternate version of 2009. Rhythms of Darkness! The Galvatron of this dimension beheaded Blurr - probably, though not conclusively, 'our' Blurr rather than the one native to that world.

Blurr joined an underground Autobot cell led by Kup after Shockwave's takeover of Cybertron. Along with fellow cell members Hot Rod and Springer, he observed a Decepticon shuttle (actually piloted by the Dinobots) from the Wastelands. Later, after Hot Rod brought an unconscious Optimus Prime to their base, Blurr and Wheelie tried and failed to subdue the legendary Autobot when he woke up (Blurr's attempt was to punch Optimus in the face and nearly break his hand). Soon after, Blurr participated in Prime's Autobot uprising, ending Shockwave's rule.

Blurr transforms into a blue Cybertronic hovercar. The nose portion of the vehicle detaches to serve as a shield in robot mode, and he also comes with a (non-firing) Electro-Laser accessory. The toy, like most figures introduced with the movie, differs somewhat from the animation model.

• Blurr (Targetmaster, 1987)

A retool of the previous toy, Blurr was adapted to be able to hold the Nebulan/weapon Haywire, replacing his pistol from the previous release. A new weapon-mount point was also added to his midsection/vehicle-hood.
