The electrostator is a device made to draw down all of the electrical potential of a lightning storm into one large bolt.

As part of a plan to create energon out of energy, Scorponok had Iguanus install an electrostator at the top of the Empire State Building, where it would draw the power of a thunderstorm created by the Decepticons' stormmaker station. The energy would then go through Manhattan's power grid and into a cable leading to the Decepticons' base. The process would have destroyed half of the city.
