Blue Bacchus is a Decepticon Crossformer from the Victory portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
No, not the Wookiee.

Blue Bacchus (ブルーバッカス Burū Bakkasu) is Black Shadow's villainous partner in crime. Utterly cold-hearted and without mercy, he is an expert gunman with unerring aim and fantastic fast-draw abilities, but he still comes in a distinct second to Black Shadow in fighting ability. Blue Bacchus yearns to be as good as the other Crossformer, and follows him everywhere, hoping that he can learn from him and become just like him. Their partnership has made them infamous throughout space, and there is a massive bounty on their heads.

Blue Bacchus transforms into a helicopter, and can create an anti-gravitational phenomenon by spinning his rotors just so. This "Gravity Attack", as he calls it, can levitate any foes into his clutches.

Blue Bacchus and Black Shadow were hired by Hellbat of the Breastforce to help him loot Planet Micro of all its energon. While the Crossformers caused massive panic and destruction, Hellbat got a clear run at the energy reserves. The incredible size and power of the Crossformers, especially on a world full of Micromasters, made their mission relatively easy, until Governor Riker called in Star Saber to help. When the Autobot commander arrived to stop the villains during their an attack on the plasma energy plant that provided Micro with a third of all its energy, Blue Bacchus spoke for the pair when he refused to take on Star Saber for the price they were currently being paid. After Hellbat grudgingly agreed to triple their fee, the two Crossformers were about to engage Star Saber when they themselves were attacked by Saber's ally, their former partner in crime, Greatshot, who had reformed and joined the Autobots. Blue Bacchus did not start the fight out well, as he transformed into helicopter mode only to be knocked from the air and pinned by Greatshot in his rhino mode. Black Shadow freed him from Greatshot's grip and the pair seemed to turn the fight around, until the six-changer used his "Disappearing Dust" technique to get the drop on them and destroy their guns. The pair proved to be no match for Greatshot with their bladed weapons, and he destroyed their outer shells, forcing them to retreat in their small vehicle modes, vowing revenge. Hellbat joined them in retreat, without any energy to show for his trouble, but the Crossformers insisted that he would still be paying them. Planet Micro - The Mysterious Warrior

"I'm sick of people calling me a Headmaster because of the size of my head..."
  • Blue Bacchus (Crossformer, 1989)
    • Japanese ID number: D-310
    • Accessories: Crossformer shell, cannon/tail rotor, 2 small lasers, wing assembly, left & right landing gear, 2 thruster pods
Blue Bacchus is a redeco of the Mega Pretender Crossblades, transforming into a Cybertronic "dragster". His outer Crossformer shell's chest/head and waist pieces are retooled from Crossblades's to make it more robotic. The shell can still transform into a Cybertronic helicopter. Blue Bacchus can be stored inside his shell in either of his modes, and his vehicle mode can combine with the shell to form a helicopter with a Cybertronic "dragster" sticking out of its front.

Notes

  • In the cartoon, Blue Bacchus's inner robot (shown only in "dragster" and "dragster"-attached-to-copter modes) is colored as Crossblades. The shell's helicopter windows are colored orange to match.
  • The Crossformers' ID numbers are actually a huge jump backwards in the Japanese numbering system. The other Victory Decepticons' numbers start at D-322. However, Shadow and Bacchus's numbers put them right in the middle of the Super-God Masterforce Decepticons' numbers, between 1988's Browning and BlackZarak, even though the Crossformers were released in 1989. What the hell?
