Explorer I was the first satellite launched into Earth orbit by the United States of America. It was designed by rocket scientist William Hayward Pickering.

Unbeknownst to the world at large, Pickering used technology reverse-engineered from N.B.E.-1 to create Explorer I. Movie Prequel #3
