Wings Universe is based on the Generation 1 cartoon, but deviates from it in cosmetic ways and continuity points.
At some point, Magnum's Elite Guard team fought against some Omacronians in an extremely sludgy environment. Kup was reminded of the event during a later battle against the Combaticons and made mention of it to his comrades as they fought, though what, exactly, reminded him of the earlier battle remained unclear.
