The core of the Animated cartoon continuity is, naturally, the Transformers Animated cartoon series and its print adaptations. It is associated with the "Malgus" Universal stream.

With few exceptions, the supplemental fiction associated with Transformers Animated presents itself as being in-continuity with the cartoon. However, that doesn't necessarily mean that all of the various story lines are in-continuity with each other. When contradictions happen, we can only assume they represent divergent continuities.

  • The toy bios feature some events not featured in the cartoon, such as:

Continuation

Timelines

  • The Stunti-Con Job is a BotCon 2011-exclusive comic and script reading which is set in "season 3.5" of Transformers Animated. Most of the exclusive toys from that convention are also from Animated cartoon continuity.

Japanese continuity

  • As usual in Transformer cartoons, the Japanese and American versions of Transformers Animated have certain differences, such as different names for characters and dialog differences.
  • The Japanese manga The Cool is notable in that it handles continuity much more loosely than other Animated supplemental fiction. In some cases, it depicts blatantly different versions of events from the cartoon.
