Suspicious of this new consumer product, Wheeljack dismantled one and discovered that it employed Cybertronian technology, and even had some degree of sentience. Using them would result in the user being placed under a form of subliminal control, creating an army of human slaves for whoever controlled the things. He roped Snarl into breaking into the Sleepfast warehouse, where they were attacked by a horde of Sleepfasts. Behind it all was Mindwipe, who'd recently been expelled from the Decepticon army and was looking to build an army so he could conquer Earth. As Mindwipe aimed a gun at them, Wheeljack and Snarl mentally commanded the Sleepfasts to turn on, overloading Mindwipe's neural circuitry and disabling the Decepticon. The Living Nightlights!
