Excuse me while I crash into this bluish-black thing.

LV-117 is a world located in the Lenocinium Velnero System... but when it's located there is another question altogether. Due to strange circumstances, the entire planet has become detached from linear time and is always moving through the timestream, appearing from an outsider's view to drift in and out of existence at different points in time. Just passing through the atmosphere causes outsiders to end up in a random time period completely different from where they started.

The inhabitants of LV-117, a humanoid race able to change shape into larger, more vicious forms for fighting, have made it their mission to guide their homeworld through the sea of time, though there are also nasty creatures there such as the Chaosteros and Arachnosaurs. The planet also has a mysterious connection to the Quintessons.

IDW Generation 1 comics

600,000 years ago, LV-117 was selected as the first target of Shockwave's Regenesis program, a project to seed planets with energon-derived ores in the hopes that they would grow energon that Shockwave could harvest. It didn't quite work out like that, as the "Ore-1" sent to LV-117 mutated the very soil of the planet and turned it chronally unstable. The natives were able to master the technology of the missile that sent the ore and developed a means of guiding their homeworld during its erratic journey through time. Syndromica (2)

Thousands of years ago, Turmoil arrived on LV-117 from the future to check on the progress of Regenesis on behalf of Shockwave. He enslaved the natives and took them with him as he returned to normal timestream, wholly unaware that he had been visiting the planet's past. Syndromica (2) At some point, the Autobot Wheelie crash landed on LV-117 and had to survive against the local deadly animals for an undisclosed period of time, but the nature of the planet makes it hard to tell when he got there. Spotlight: Wheelie Over 70 years back, the Reflector trio of the present then crashed there while on a mission similar to Turmoil's. Syndromica (2) Wheelie found Spectro and Spyglass tormenting a captured native named Varta, transported from the time of Turmoil's visit by a time-hopping Orion Pax, saving him on the cost of letting the two Reflector components steal a spaceship needed to leave the planet. He had sabotaged it, though, and it exploded in the sky, killing the Decepticons and stranding him and Varta. Elsewhere, a Quintesson temple painting began to glow... Spotlight: Wheelie

Years later, Orion Pax arrived on the Ark-27 in hunt of Jhiaxus, who was intending to steal the Regenesis missile's control device and use LV-117's unique properties for himself. Due to contact with a time machine brought by Reflector, he and Bludgeon were sent careening through several eras of the planet, culminating in Orion taking the device but Jhiaxus getting his hands on the time machine. In LV-117's future, the final era visited by Orion, the planet was in the progress of meeting its end as it was ripped apart by forces unknown. Wheelie and Varta attempted to abandon it, though Varta was killed by Bludgeon in the progress. Syndromica (2)

With the destruction of LV-117, Wheelie traveled made it to its more stable neighbor, LV-118, introducing the Chaosteros and Arachnosaurs to that world. The Stars My Destination

Notes

  • LV-117's name appears to be a reference to the planet LV-426 from the Aliens series. This wouldn't be the first time for Furman.
