First of all, please sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~). Secondly, the second version of your image was already perfectly bar-less. It's just your browser's cache playing tricks on you. You'll have to refresh the downsized image on the page somehow. I usually go to the address of the downsized image itself[1] (instead of the full image[2]) and refresh it there.
