Nyon is a Cybertronian Torus-City. Though once a great, shining example of a city, neglect from the corrupted Autobot government caused it to devolve into a rusty slum town and a hotbed for anti-government insurgent activity.
Named locations in Nyon include the Rust Narrows and the Acropolex.

Ready to do anything to rid Cybertron of those opposed his rule, Zeta Prime made the rebellious population of Nyon his first target. He began secretly draining civilians of their energon to power his Omega Destructors and their vamparc ribbon weapons, planning to do the same to other cities. Parasites Next, Zeta sent Orion Pax's Autobot unit to Nyon with the mission to capture the Decepticon Swindle, who was supplying the city's terrorists with explosives. Law and Disorder The plan was for them to be killed during the mission, giving Zeta an excuse to assault Nyon directly with his Omega Destructors, but instead they succeeded. Cause and Effect
Zeta Prime went on with his plan to attack the city anyway, but first got Orion out of the way by ordering him to arrest Hot Rod, one of the insurgents. Orion tracked him to the Acropolex, where he found tanks full of energon stolen from the city's population and realized Zeta was wrong. Ruins Meanwhile, Zeta Prime and the Omega Destructors ruthlessly attacked Nyon, draining its citizens and burning its buildings. Hot Rod attempted to evacuate the city while Orion Pax's team distracted the Destructors, but realized it was futile and fell back on the insurgents' contingency plan: destroying Nyon themselves with phase-charges planted throughout the city. As another insurgent said it was better their comrades die at their hands than Zeta's, Hot Rod regretfully detonated the explosives, and most of Nyon went up in flames. Purge
Soon after Orion Pax became Optimus Prime, the Matrix of Leadership guided him back to the abandoned ruins of Nyon and allowed him to feel the life force of the Acropolex, in truth an ancient dormant Transformer. When the other Autobots arrived and rallied around him, he introduced them to a revived Acropolex, now known as Metroplex. Rise
