The name or term "Tailgate" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Tailgate (disambiguation).
Tailgate is an Autobot from the Prime portion of the Aligned continuity family.

Tailgate once worked alongside Arcee. They really didn't get along at first, but their fighting skills were pretty evenly matched, and the two became a powerful, nigh-unstoppable team.

And then they went and got caught, and Tailgate went and got dead. Arcee didn't take that very well.
