The Galactic Council is an organization from the IDW continuity portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Galactic Council is a coalition representing the thousands of intelligent species residing in the galaxy and is primarily involved with negotiating non-aggression pacts between them. They also employ a mighty peacekeeping force to make sure everybody honors the pacts. The Council is understandably not very fond of either Autobots or Decepticons, whose petty conflict has ruined entire planets and gotten countless innocent bystanders caught in the crossfire, and have blacklisted Cybertronians from joining them.
