It's still hardly unheard of. That phrasing makes it sound like it's as archaic as the use of Ð and Þ in English. (I miss ðose letters.)

HasTak is a fan term used to refer collectively to Hasbro and Takara, particularly in situations where it isn't clear which company deserved the lion's share of credit (or blame) for something.

The term has largely fallen out of use since Takara merged with Tomy. Occasionally, the alternative Hastakomy is used in its place.
