The Transformers cartoon
A Skuxxoid was using a death crystal cannon to blow stuff up for kicks, when Blast Off intercepted him. The Skuxxoid negotiated to sell the weapon to the Decepticon, who tested it by obliterating a conveniently nearby EDC command station. When the Autobots arrived on the planet of Goo to investigate the station's destruction, Kup recognized the crystals' origin. Blast Off and Runamuck soon attacked the Autobots with their new weapon; they pursued them through space, destroying a nearby planetoid in the process.
Learning of the death crystals, Galvatron wasted no time setting up operations on Dread. His goal: the destruction of Cybertron via a giant death crystal cannon. Before Galvatron could fire the weapon, the Autobots commandeered the cannon. Kup then used it to blast Chaos himself, though dust and smoke obscured the results. Chaos
