Cougaraiders are a cat-like form of natural Cybertronic fauna. After the creation of the prototype Recordicon Laserbeak was successful a cougaraider was altered from a normal mechanimal into the Decepticon spy Ravage.

It is likely, but unstated, that the other Recordicons that share Ravage's body-type share this origin as well.
