The Heavy Iron was used by Ironhide when he was sent to help evacuate citizens with Ratchet in Detroit from a Decepticon attack. He used this until he had to replace it with the Heavy Iron 2.0 to defeat Mixmaster. The Heavy Iron 2.0 was given to Ironhide by Wheeljack in order to help him combat Mixmaster.
