In the early days of the Great War, following the death of Ultra Magnus, Chief Justice Tyrest developed the Magnus Armor in order to create the legend of an "immortal lawman". After spreading rumours that Magnus had faked his death, Suture was the first Autobot he selected to don the armor and become Ultra Magnus, Duly Appointed Enforcer of the Tyrest Accord.
