C-X's physique is similar to Optimus Prime's, however, the height of the C-X is about 1.5 times that of Optimus Prime. There are five C-Xes in total, including a prototype and four others. Each of the four is equipped with different weapons.

The Battle of the Star Gate
In the 1990s, the C-X was engineered by the human populace, in conjunction with Optimus Prime, to create an Earthly protector to help the Autobots against the Decepticons. Optimus Prime agreed to fight against the C-X in mock war games in order to test its capabilities. The first test was a purely physical battle. Although the C-X's strength was impressive, its defensive abilities were incomplete. After guarding against several blows to gauge the C-X's measure, Optimus Prime was able to catch the mechanoid's fist and ground it with a judo flip. The C-X failed the next test as well: a targeting demonstration. It appeared the robot lacked the ability to compensate for close-range targets. Wheeljack and Bluestreak each lent their expert opinions to the design crew after each test for possible upgrades.
The friendly testing suddenly ended when the C-X ran amok, switching to live fire and striking at Prime fiercely. The Autobots and the nearby human weapons protesters were put in danger by the C-X's berserk actions. Despite his injuries, Optimus managed to intercept the C-X's attempt to laser-blast the humans by swinging his trailer into the line of fire. The Autobot leader then sprang over his trailer and decapitated the droid with his energo-axe. Divided Views
The C-X program continued despite this setback, and four C-X drones accompanied the Autobots when the Decepticons made a second attack on the Trigger. They soon proved to be a liability, however, when Starscream's ghost remotely assumed command of their programming. The time-traveling spectre revealed he was responsible for the earlier C-X prototype going haywire. The C-Xs were ultimately demolished in the space battle between Starscream, the Autobots and the Decepticons. The Battle of the Star Gate
