The battle for the Origin Matrix comes to a head.
Synopsis
Megatron stands over the Maximals in his Gigastorm Armor and promises them a quick death if they surrender. The Maximals respond by opening fire, but the armor is left without a scratch, and Megatron orders the Predacons to counter attack. While their troops clash, Ultra Magnus calls out Megatron, who responds that he can't leave the armor — he is now one with it. Realizing that as a result damaging the armor will hurt Megatron, Magnus opens fire, but the Gigastorm armor transforms into a huge battle platform hovering overhead and takes out the other Maximals. Announcing he holds all the power, Megatron demands the Origin Matrix, but Magnus instead inserts the artifact into his own gun to power it up into the Matrix Blaster Cannon, which he uses to rip open a hole in space and time.
As the others are sucked through, Magnus invites Depth Charge to come with them, however the sudden appearance of two ships through the rift means Depth Charge must stay and deal with the new threat. Understanding, Magnus leaps through the rift as Depth Charge farewells "Ultra Mammoth". Depth Charge next flies to the crash site of the nearest ship, only to immediately recognize the disembarking Megatron and his crew with a sense of resignation.

- The same issue's Transformers I.Q. reveals where Magnus ends up—the future of the Shattered Glass universe where he hands the Origin Matrix off to Aquarius.

- Megatron's giant mech is named the "Gigastorm Armor" in reference to Beast Wars II Gigastorm.
- The two ships crashing at the end of the story is obviously a callout to the start of "Beast Wars (Part 1)".
