ComTab

The ComTab is a device from the Rescue Bots portion of the Aligned continuity family.

The ComTab is a small portable version of the communications system at the Griffin Rock fire station. It allows the user to take emergency calls via videophone and coordinate response efforts, all from a remote location. It can somehow receive video of distant locations from improbable viewpoints, such as aerial views of buildings and even rivers. It also turns into a sweet hoverboard.

When the Lobster and Technology Festival was overrun with hostile flobsters, Chief Burns handed Cody the ComTab so the boy could respond to emergency calls. The first touble he detected using the ComTab was Mayor Luskey under flobster attack, and sent Graham to help. When Frankie Greene was trapped in a phone booth by flobsters, her emergency call also went through to the ComTab. Flobsters on Parade

Cody used the ComTab to show the Rescue Bots pictures of dogs helping human emergency services. Walk on the Wild Side It was invaluable when Cody needed to coordinate rescue efforts from city hall during a snowstorm created by an out of control weather machine. It also alerted him when Frankie was in danger on the river. Christmas in July About to depart on a trip to try and catch a mechanical shark, Chief Burns sent Cody to monitor the situation from the pier using the ComTab. Deep Trouble

It proved useful in warning Cody that Frankie was about to be eaten by a robot dinosaur. Return of the Dino Bot Cody used the ComTab's hoverboard mode to travel to the laboratory, where a sample of Squilsh escaped. He, Frankie and Doc Greene used it to keep in touch with the rest of the Burns family as they pursued the Squilsh. You've Been Squilshed

Cody used it to track ghost sightings during an epidemic. The Haunting of Griffin Rock It was used to access the security recordings at the river when Chase and Chief Burns went missing. Little White Lies The repulsor on its underside proved handy in deflecting debris when Cody was trapped in an unstable building, inspiring Doc Greene to make him a repulsor badge. Rescue Boy

Cody utilized the ComTab to design his sprinkler suit. Sky Forest It proved unable to carry him when he was aged into an adult. One for the Ages He used it to communicate with the fire station while exploring the S.S. Isolde. Tip of the Iceberg Cody had the ComTab with him when he went to the Hall of Inspiration to play Griffin Rock Element Quest 1.0 with Blades. Chase found it outside the VR chambers. A Virtual Disaster When the team relaxed at Blossom Vale, Cody kept track of emergency calls on the ComTab. Spellbound

Cody used it to get to the lab to watch Kade use the Nightmare Imaging Device, and to call for help when the gremlins produced by the device became out of control. Blame the Gremlins He used it to check the station's security cameras during the hunt for a strange beast. Feed the Beast

Cody recorded a message for Doc Greene on the ComTab, but it was unable to get a GPS fix underground to fly to the lab. It later got explosives strapped to it, and was blown up in order to ignite some energon, so that the team could escape Mount Magma. What Rises Above
